HOW TO PUT ON?

HOW TO PUT THE MPS-DOUBLE FRONT SLEEVES ON?

We know how important it is to be able to quickly dress and undress your dog, which is why our sleeves are made of soft and stretchy high-quality material. The MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves have a snug fit to prevent your dog from wiggling out. It is important however to keep monitoring your dog if the snug fit isn’t too tight. Getting the MPS-Double Front Sleeve on and off your dog is simple, so let’s take a look!

Step 1: Insert both legs through the sleeves;

Step 2: Secure around the chest by using the snaps/press buttons (use at least 2 rows of snaps).

HOW TO USE THE MPS-TAZ2® DOUBLE FRONT LEG SLEEVES CORRECTLY

The MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves are specially designed on the anatomy of dogs and can therefore only be used for dogs.

Important information:

Consult your veterinarian when you want to use the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves for medical purposes. Your veterinarian can recommend a suitable treatment. Keep monitoring your dog regularly to make sure the fit is not too tight. Keep your dog under supervision of a responsible adult at all times while using the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves. Please consult your veterinarian if your dog’s behavior is changing or when your dog has excessive licking/chewing habits.

Washing instructions

By longer usage, it is possible that the print of the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves and the label could fade over time. With the washing instructions below, this process can be delayed. Washing, maintaining and handling of delivered items always remains the responsibility of the customer.

Instructions:

Always turn inside out for washing.
Fasten all press studs before washing.
We recommend using a laundry bag.
Wash the sleeves up to a maximum of 90ºC/194ºF.
Never put the sleeves in the dryer! Hang it out and let it air dry.
Do not iron directly over the print and never too hot.
Do not use bleach or other chemicals to clean the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves.

Using bleach and other chemicals can cause irritations to your dog’s wound, surgical area, hotspots or more…!

TIP! To ensure that your dog remains protected, two MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves are often purchased. While one of the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves can be washed, the other set of Sleeves can be worn. When your dog needs to wear the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves longer than a week, it’s always better to have a back-up MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves!

When having hot spots or skin conditions

Sometimes, an IV line needs to be placed in a dog. To avoid that a dog reaches it, the veterinarian can pass the IV line under the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves. The IV line passes under the sleeve, from the leg tot the dog’s back. In this way, the MPS-TAZ2® does not only protect the dog’s legs, but also the IV line. This is useful during recovery at the veterinary practice or when a dog is allowed to go home but has to continue wearing a portable infusion system.

Can help to reduce stress

The front leg sleeves contain an adjustable closure and soft stretch band. The closure and band offer a comfortable pressure around the chest. This pressure has a calming effect on most dogs. This can be useful in many situations, for example after a medical procedure, in case of anxiety or stress.

The MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves are suitable for covering and protecting ointments, bandages, sutures and wounds for example. Thanks to the MPS-TAZ2® the dog cannot bite, scratch or lick the ointment/bandage, but he can still move freely.

In case of overgrooming

Licking behavior can be caused by several factors, like hot spots, wounds, allergies or skin conditions. Due to excessive licking, the wound or affected area could become larger and even infected. If the dog licks one front leg, the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve could be used. However, if the dog licks both front legs, the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves offer the best solution. To protect the dog’s hind legs, we have developed the MPS-HLS® Hind Leg Sleeves.

Snaps for a good fit

It is very difficult for the dog to open the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves itself because the closure is on the back. The closure is provided with Velcro® and a row of snaps/poppers. These snaps provide extra security so that the sleeves stay in place. However, it is quick, safe and easy for the owner or veterinarian to put on and take off. We advise to close at least two rows of snaps to keep the sleeves perfectly in place. Keep monitoring your dog while wearing the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeve.

Calming effect on most dogs

The MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves have an additional advantage: the gentle pressure around the chest thanks to the adjustable closure and soft stretch band offers a calming effect on most dogs.

Soft stretch band and sleeve

The double sleeves protect both front legs. A soft stretch band at the bottom of the sleeves ensures that the sleeves fit more snugly around the leg. Sleeves that are too long can be rolled up. A soft stretch band is also around the chest area.

Elbow pads for extra soft protection

An additional soft protective layer has been added to the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves. These have been designed for dogs that require some additional comfort at the level of the elbows.

Material specification

The MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves are made from cotton with Invista Lycra® that breathes, which is comfortable and feels like a second skin. Consequently, it offers maximum freedom of movement and causes less stress in comparison to the collar.

The sleeves feature non-stretch material around the chest area. This ensures that the sleeves remain in place and the slight pressure created around the chest offers a calming effect for most dogs.

The sleeves have a thin layer of polyester at the level of the elbows.

The MPS® logo is always on the right side of the MPS-TAZ2 Double front leg® level with the shoulder. The washing label also has an MPS hologram. Without the yellow logo and the hologram, it is not an original, official product of Medical Pet Shirts Europe B.V.
