LEG PROTECTION FOR (OLDER) DOGS

DOES YOUR DOG HAVE (SKIN) PROBLEMS ON HIS FRONT OR HIND LEGS? CHOOSE OUR LEG PROTECTION!

To overview

The front and hind legs are an important part of the dog’s body. Thanks to its legs, a dog can run, jump and play. Unfortunately, the legs are also often a source of problems. A dog can have wounds, surgical sutures or hot spots on his legs and continue to lick or chew on it, causing an infection. Moreover, (older) dogs can get joint problems and pressure sores on their legs. For a quick recovery, we advise to contact your veterinarian and to choose our leg protection for your dog.

Wounds & hot spots

If your dog has wounds, surgical sutures or hot spots on his leg, it is important to cover this area. In this way, you can prevent your dog from licking, scratching or chewing his legs. Moreover, if you cover your dog’s leg(s), the wound or hot spot is protected from bacteria. If the dog has a problem on one of his legs, you could choose the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve. However, if both front legs need to be protected, the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves offer the best solution. To protect the dog’s hind legs, we have developed the MPS-HLS® Hind Leg Sleeves.

Pressure sores & joint problems

Pain and joint problems can create mobility issues for (older) dogs. And this can create another problem: pressure sores. Make sure your dog lies on soft bedding instead of hard surfaces. In addition, the MPS leg protection could help in this case. The MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves and the MPS-HLS® Hind Leg Sleeves contain a soft layer for extra protection.

Infusion system

Sometimes, an infusion system (IV line) needs to be placed in a dog after surgery. To avoid that a dog reaches it, the veterinarian can pass the infusion system under the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve or MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves. The IV line passes under the sleeve, from the leg tot the dog’s back. In this way, the MPS-TAZ2® does not only protect the dog’s legs, but also the infusion system.
