Ear problems; a difficult, but frequent problem in dogs! Most dogs will do anything to reduce the pain and itching. Dogs will continuously scratch their ears, rub and shake their heads. Understandable, but this could increase the problem. Intense head shaking and scratching could lead to an ear hematoma, in which blood collects within the ear flap. If left untreated, the ear flap could get shrunken, which might cause further problems. Therefore, it’s important to treat ear problems properly and to protect the ears, wounds and sutures. Unfortunately, bandages sag or need to be replaced constantly. That is why we have developed the MPS-Head Cover®: a comfortable head and ear protection for dogs.

There are many different causes for ear problems, like ear mites, skin conditions, allergies, tumors, grass seeds, excessive cleaning or excessive ear wax. Symptoms could include scratching the ear, shaking the head, pain swelling of the ear canal.

First of all, it is important to find the cause and treat the ear problem promptly. Always consult your dog’s veterinarian for a diagnosis and treatment. Moreover, it is essential to protect wounds, sutures, skin problems and bandages on the ear and/or head. The MPS-Head Cover® is perfect to cover and protect the dog’s head.

Thanks to the adjustable fastening strips, the elastic cord and snaps ensure that the Head Cover® fits as snugly as possible. This reduces the risk of bleeding in the ear caused by the dog shaking its head.

Moreover, the Head Cover® comes with two specially designed pockets on the inside near the ears. These bags hold the Head Cover Pads (one included) for extra soft protection. A dog’s ears can also be inserted into these bags to prevent wound discharge and ointments from sticking to the dog’s fur.

Finally, the flexible supporting ribs improve the air circulation in the Head Cover® for a faster recovery.
