MPS®, trusted and loved by pets and veterinarians!

Use the MPS Protective Dog Boot for:

✓ Protecting plaster, splints or bandages while walking.

Bandages, plasters or splints can quickly become wet or dirty outside, meaning they often need to be replaced. The water-repellent MPS® Protective Pet Boot helps prevent this by keeping everything clean and dry during walks – without the fuss of socks or plastic bags.

✓ Paw problems such as injuries to the soles of the feet or nails.

In case of wounds on the paw or damaged nails, the boot offers protection against road dirt, snow and cold. The sturdy sole provides extra grip, while the flexible material remains comfortable for the dog.

✓ When using ointments or medical pads that should not get wet.

Ointments or pads lose their effect as soon as they get wet. The Pet Boot helps to keep it dry during short walks, so that the treatment remains effective and the leg is protected from further irritation.

Key features of the MPS® Protective Dog Boot

Specifically for outdoor use

The boot is designed to protect the paw during short walks outside, when the dog needs to relieve itself. It is not suitable for long-term indoor use or continuous wear, as wounds require sufficient airflow to heal properly and avoid infection.

The boot is easy to hand-wash and can be reused multiple times – keeping it both hygienic and sustainable in practice.

Sturdy, flexible sole

The sole is reinforced with a durable, non-slip rubber layer made from 100% nylon with a PU coating, providing extra grip on outdoor surfaces. Despite its strength, the boot remains flexible enough to ensure comfortable movement.

The rubber sole extends higher at the front and back, offering additional protection when the dog drags its paw while walking.

Water-repellent and dirt-repellent

The outside surface is made of sturdy and water-repellent material that prevents dirt, moisture or bacteria from reaching the bandage. Ideal for rainy days or muddy surfaces.

Adjustable with Velcro closure and drawstring

Thanks to the Velcro® closure, the boot is easy to adjust to different leg sizes, and it stays firmly in place without sagging. Always ensure a good fit to avoid chafing. At the top of the boot, the entry is equipped with a drawstring. This will make moisture and dirt less likely to get into the boot.

Find the right size for every dog

The MPS Protective Pet Boot Dog is specially designed on the anatomy of dogs and can therefore only be used for dogs. To find the right size, measure the full circumference of the leg. Then measure the leg length from the armpit down to the start of the paw. It is easy to put on and has a perfect fit due to the adjustable velcro and strap.

Important: do not over tighten the straps as this could lead to circulation restriction. The boot is available in 7 sizes. For extra flexibility, the size Medium and Large are available in both a long and short version. Each size can be recognized by the specific color tag. Please refer to the sizing chart or watch our step-by-step tutorial.

My service dog needed to stay mobile despite a thick paw bandage. Standard dog shoes didn’t fit, and DIY solutions failed. After struggling with slipping and wound irritation, I discovered a protective boot from MPS® that fit over the bandage, stayed in place, and allowed healing. Now he can safely join me for short outings again.

Tank is wearing his MPS medical boot. This water repellent paw protection keeps his bandages dry. The MPS-Medical PetS Boot® has a durable, flexible, rubber non-skid sole. The front and the back part of the rubber sole are a little higher for more protection in case Tank drags with its paw. And ofcourse.. Here in Amsterdam, bad weather asks for extra precautions

Frequently asked questions:

Can the boot be used without bandages, splint or plaster?

No, the protective boot cannot be used without bandages, splint or plaster. Due to the smooth water-repellent fabric, the boot could then slide off too quickly.

Can the boot also be used indoors?

No, the MPS Protective Pet Boot is designed for outdoor walks only – not for indoor use. The material is water-repellent and therefore not breathable enough to safely cover wounds for extended periods of time.

Why does the inside of the boot sometimes feel slightly damp?

Thanks to the water-repellent material, water and dirt cannot get to the inside of the boot. However, dogs can sweat through their paw pads in heat and/or stress. This could make the inside of the boot feel slightly damp.

Can the boot be washed?

Yes, the protective boot can be washed by hand, using mild soap if needed.

How to recognize an original MPS product?

An MPS Protective Pet Boot Dog is truly original with the MPS logo presented on the front. No logo? Then it's not an official product from Medical Pet Shirts Europe B.V. - meaning no guarantee on our quality, safety, and fit.
