The shirt covers the upper body and prevents the dog from licking or scratching in case of stitches, skin conditions or wounds. Unlike a traditional cone, the shirt covers the sensitive area directly — shielding wounds from licking, dirt, or other irritants. Its breathable cotton fabric ensures proper airflow, supporting a safe and speedy healing process. Regular wound checks and cleaning are easy, as the shirt can be quickly put on or taken off by both pet owners and veterinary professionals.
The MPS Protective Pet Shirt Dog offers a practical holder at the top of the shirt in which a portable infusion system or Holter ECG can be attached safely and stably – without hindering the dog's movement.
The stretchy, elastic band on the MPS Top Shirt under the chest provides a light, constant pressure that can have a calming effect on nervous or anxious dogs. This contributes to a calmer recovery period. But it can also aid in situations that may be stressful such as vet visits, car rides or events.
The shirt is equipped with red attachment loops with which the MPS hind leg sleeves can be easily secured. Together, they form an effective solution for wound care and aftercare. On the back legs and the full torso, offering an almost full body protective garment for dogs.
Covers and protects hot spots, wounds and other skin conditions directly without having to restrict the dogs movement by using a traditional e-collar. In this way, the problem area can heal in complete freedom and due to the breathable cotton fabric enough oxygen airflow for the sensitive skin to recover.
The Top Shirt fits comfortably around the chest and shoulders, and is easy to adjust via the wide Velcro® closure. There is an elastic band added under by the belly to ensure a snug and comfortable fit and to allow for breathing space for the dog. The elastic band at the bottom also provides gentle pressure around the abdomen, which can help to reduce stress or anxiety in the dog.
At the top of the shirt is a lockable pocket (12 x 9 x 3 cm), specially designed for safely carrying a portable infusion system or Holter ECG. The space in between the shoulders is intended for the insertion of the infusion system or Holter ECG, from inside of the shirt tot the pocket holder. Practical for clinical use, but also monitoring at home.
Inside there are red loops to which the MPS Protective Hind Leg Sleeves can be attached for a safe and stable combination. Ideal for recovery after orthopaedic procedures on the hind legs.
The MPS Top Shirt Dog is made from a high-quality cotton blend combined with four-way stretch Invista Lycra® a breathable, lightweight material that feels soft and fits like a second skin. This helps regulate body temperature, supports the healing process, and prevents overheating or skin irritation. For optimal support, the chest area features a non-stretch material which is needed for the gentle, controlled pressure around the abdomen/chest.
To find the correct size, measure your dog around the widest part of the chest, usually right behind the front legs. If your dog is between two sizes, we recommend choosing the smaller one.
