The shirt is specially designed for the physique of a rabbit. Due to the custom-made opening under the tail, most rabbits can keep the shirt completely closed while using it on the rabbit toilet. Regularly check the opening under the tail. If the shirt is dirty, it should be washed before putting it back on. This reduces the risk of infections.
The inside of the protective shirt is light blue, so that wound fluid, blood or dirt can be noticed quickly. In case of moisture loss, a sanitary napkin or gauze can easily be placed on the inside or between the double layer of fabric. Thanks to this double layer, it is also possible to add an ice-pack when needed.
The bunny shirt is finished around the front and back legs, tail and neck with a soft, elastic band. This prevents chafing or cutting into the skin and allows the rabbit to move freely during recovery. Even during operations or skin problems between the shoulder blades towards the neck, the sensitive area remains well protected thanks to the extra long, elastic neck collar. Anything is better than a collar, which I had to use on another rabbit back in the day when there were no bodysuits. The animal suffered a thousand times more from this than from a bodysuit. I am very satisfied and am happy to recommend these bodysuits! :)
