After a procedure or in case of an injury, the head protection helps to keep the area clean and protected. Has your dog had surgery on the head or ears? You can easily access the wound for care or check-ups at the vet. Also great for home use in the recovery period! The lightweight, breathable fabric allows the wound to heal optimally with access to enough oxygen. It prevents your dog from scratching, rubbing or accidentally hitting something. And that without that annoying plastic collar!
Some dogs often shake their heads, for example when they have an ear infection. To reduce this, you can thread the ears through the openings within the head guard and keep them securely in place. The Head Cover provides peace of mind, allowing the ear tissue to recover better.
Does your dog easily suffer from irritation or wounds on the ears? The soft, breathable fabric prevents dirt, moisture or licking from making it worse. Air can still get to the skin through the ribs in the Head Cover – which is important for a healthy recovery. For extra comfort, you can optionally add Head Cover pads.
If your dog has bandages or (ointment) medication on his ears, the Head Cover helps to keep it neatly in place. You can put the ears in the soft inner pockets if necessary, so that no ointment or wound fluid sticks to the coat.
Foxtails can be a major problem in the summer. These sharp seeds get stuck in the fur and can crawl into the ears – resulting in nasty inflammations. The Head Cover helps prevent foxtails from reaching the ear canal, especially in dogs with droopy ears or dense fur.
Some dogs find blow-drying at the groomer quite exciting – that warm air and the loud noise close to their head can be very unpleasant. With the MPS Head Cover, they often feel more comfortable. The ears flap less, and the sound and air pressure are muffled.
The Head Cover is made from a comfortable blend of cotton and stretchy Invista Lycra® four-way stretch, with a stylish Denim Blue fabric on the outside. The light blue interior consists of breathable Kool-Tex fabric that ensures good air circulation. This keeps the skin cool and dry – ideal for recovery.
Every dog is different – which is why you can easily adjust the Head Cover to size. With handy Velcro straps and press studs, you can perfectly adjust the head protection around your dog's neck and head. At the back there is an extra Velcro strip to adjust the length, and at the front an elastic cord ensures a good, soft fit around the head.
Please note never close the Head Cover too tight – your dog must be able to breathe and move freely.
On the inside of the Head Cover are two soft pockets, one for each ear. If necessary, you can place the included HCpad in it for extra protection and comfort. This can also be ordered separately if you need two HC pads. Also, useful if you want to protect your dog's ears from wound fluid or ointment. In consultation with your veterinarian, you can even put a cooling pad in it in case of swelling or inflammation.
The Head Cover has a special, patented shape that fits perfectly on your dog's head. Thanks to the flexible ribs (removable when washing), it stays in place neatly without shifting, even when your dog is lying down or moving. These ribs also ensure that air circulation is improved!
The Head Cover is designed for repeated use, both in the clinic and at home. You can machine wash the cover at a maximum of 40°C and the removable pads at 30°C. This keeps everything hygienic, fresh, and comfortable with every use — and it's a sustainable choice. Regular washing also helps reduce the risk of infection.
The MPS Head Cover is specially designed on the anatomy of dogs and can therefore only be used for dogs. To determine the correct size, measure the head circumference, neck circumference, and the length from the top of the head to where the collar sits.It is easy to put on and has a perfect fit due to the adjustable head and neck circumference and Velcro® in the back. For extra security use at least two rows of buttons.

Yes, your dog can wear the Head Cover all day. This head guard is made of breathable Kooltex fabric, which ensures good air circulation and optimal comfort.
Note: for certain wounds or infections, it may be wise to take off the Head Cover from time to time. Only do this under adult supervision so that you can keep an eye on the dog not shaking or scratching its head excessively.
In addition, check regularly:
1. Whether the Head Cover is still good and comfortable (not too tight, not too loose)
2. Whether the material needs to be washed
3. Whether there is blood and/or (wound) fluid on the inside.
