Size guide

1. How to measure your pet?

To properly protect your pet, it's crucial for recovery clothing to fit as perfectly as possible. A size too big gives your pet room to scratch and lick, allowing dirt and bacteria to get in. A size too small can cause discomfort. We're here to help you find the right size for the best care for your buddy! Just follow these steps!

The Protective Pet Shirt for Dog, Cat or Rabbit

A proper fit is essential: the MPS-Protective Pet Shirt Dog, Cat or Rabbit should fit like a second skin. Not too tight, but certainly not too loose.

If the shirt is too wide, your pet may still reach wounds, stitches, or irritated areas. Choosing the right size helps ensure both comfort and protection throughout recovery.

  • For dogs and cats: measure from the neckline (where the collar sits) to the base of the tail.

  • For rabbits: sizing is based on body weight rather than body length.

This way, you can be sure your pet receives the right fit, allowing them to rest, move, and heal with confidence.

Single and Double Front Leg Sleeves

For an optimal fit of the MPS-Protective Front Leg Sleeves, it’s important to measure your dog accurately.

  • First, measure the chest circumference at the widest point, usually just behind the front legs.

  • Then, measure the length of the front leg on the inside – from the armpit to the wrist.

The Protective Pet Boot

Measure the length of your dog’s front or back leg on the inside — from the paw up to the armpit (for the front leg) or groin (for the hind leg). This helps determine the correct height of the boot.

Measure the circumference of your dog’s paw at the widest point, around the instep (“the sole”) while standing.

The Protective Head Cover

To determine the correct size, first measure the head circumference (widest part of the head).
Then measure the neck circumference where the collar normally sits. Next, measure the length from the top of the head down to the collar area. Make sure there’s enough room to fit two fingers between the measuring tape and your pet’s skin for a comfortable fit.

The DRY® Cooling Vest

Start by measuring the chest, just behind the front legs at the widest part of the ribcage. Then, measure the neck circumference where the collar normally sits, leaving enough space to fit two fingers comfortably between the measuring tape and the skin. Finally, measure the length of your dog from the neck (collar area) to the base of the tail.

Hind Leg Sleeves and Top Shirt

For the best fit, it’s important to measure your dog accurately. For the MPS-Protective Top Shirt, measure the chest circumference at the widest point, usually just behind the front legs.

For the Hind Leg Sleeves, measure the length of the back leg on the inside — from the groin (near the belly) down to the hock.

3. Choose the right size

By taking the right measurements and comparing them to the size chart, you can easily choose the size that fits your dog, cat, or rabbit. This helps prevent fitting issues and ensures the product offers both comfort and optimal protection during recovery.

Always go for a size that fits snugly: not too tight, but definitely not too loose. A proper fit is essential to prevent your pet from reaching sensitive areas.

When choosing the right size, also consider your pet’s specific features, such as:

  • A slim body type (like Greyhounds or slender cat breeds)

  • A sturdy or muscular build (such as Bulldogs or British Shorthairs)

  • The type of coat: short- or long-haired pets may experience the fit differently
