HOW TO PUT THE SLEEVE ON?

We know how important it is to be able to quickly dress and undress your dog, which is why our Single Front Leg Sleeve is made of soft and stretchy high-quality material. The Single Front Leg Sleeve has a snug fit to prevent your dog from wiggling out. It is important however to keep monitoring your dog if the snug fit isn’t too tight. Getting the Single Front Leg Sleeve on and off your dog is simple, so let’s take a look!

Step 1: Insert the ‘injured’ leg through the sleeve. Insert the other leg through the opening on the opposite side;

Step 2: Secure the flaps around the chest by using the press studs and Velcro®.

HOW TO USE THE SLEEVE CORRECTLY?

This easy to put on and off MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve is specially designed on the anatomy of dogs and can therefore only be used for dogs.

Important information

Consult your veterinarian when you want to use the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve for medical purposes. Your veterinarian can recommend a suitable treatment. Keep monitoring your dog regularly to make sure the fit is not too tight. Keep your dog under supervision of a responsible adult at all times while using this product. Please consult your veterinarian if your dog’s behavior is changing or when your dog has excessive licking/chewing habits.

Washing instructions

For longer usage, it is possible that the print of the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve fades over time. With the washing instructions below, this process can be delayed. Washing, maintaining and handling of delivered items always remains the responsibility of the customer.

Instructions:

Always turn inside out for washing.
Fasten all press studs before washing.
We recommend using a laundry bag.
Wash the Single Front Leg Sleeve up to a maximum of 90ºC/194ºF.
Never put the Single Front Leg Sleeve in the dryer! Hang it out and let it air dry.
Do not iron directly over the print and never too hot.
Do not use bleach or other chemicals to clean the Front leg sleeve.

Using bleach and other chemicals can cause irritations to your dog’s wound, surgical area, hotspots or more…!

TIP! To ensure that your dog remains protected, two Single Front Leg Sleeves are often purchased. While one Single Front Leg Sleeve can be washed, the other can be worn. When your dog needs to wear the Single Front Leg Sleeve longer than a week, it’s always better to have a back-up Single Front Leg Sleeve!

When having hot spots or skin conditions

Sometimes, an IV line needs to be placed in a dog. To avoid that a dog reaches it, the veterinarian can pass the IV line under the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve. The IV line passes under the sleeve, from the leg tot the dog’s back. In this way, the MPS-TAZ® does not only protect the dog’s leg, but also the IV line. This is useful during recovery at the veterinary practice or when a dog is allowed to go home but has to continue wearing a portable infusion system.

Can help to reduce stress

The front leg sleeves contain an adjustable closure and soft stretch band. The closure and band offer a comfortable pressure around the chest. This pressure has a calming effect on most dogs. This can be useful in many situations, for example after a medical procedure, in case of anxiety or stress.

In case of overgrooming

Licking behavior can be caused by several factors, like hot spots, wounds, allergies or skin conditions. Due to excessive licking, the wound or affected area could become larger and even infected. If the dog licks one front leg, the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve could be used. However, if the dog licks both front legs, the MPS-TAZ2® Double Front Leg Sleeves offer the best solution. To protect the dog’s hind legs, we have developed the MPS-HLS® Hind Leg Sleeves.

Protects ointments and bandages

The MPS-TAZ® is a front leg sleeve. Thanks to its symmetrical design, the sleeve can be used for your dog’s left or right front leg. This sleeve covers ointments, but could also be used to protect bandages for example. Thanks to the MPS-TAZ® the dog cannot bite, scratch or lick the ointment/bandage, but he can still move freely.

Snaps for good fixation

It is very difficult for the dog to open the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve itself because the closure is on the back. The closure is provided with Velcro® and a row of snaps/poppers. The snaps provide extra security so that the sleeve stays in place. However, it is quick, safe and easy for the owner or veterinarian to put on and take off. We advise to close at least two rows of snaps/poppers to keep the sleeve perfectly in place. Keep monitoring your dog while wearing the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve.

There’s also a single orange colored snap, so you can quickly see that this is an original Medical Pet Shirts product!

The MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve offers a gentle pressure around the chest thanks to the adjustable closure and soft stretch band. This pressure offers a calming effect for most dogs.

Soft stretch band

A soft, elastic and protective stretch band around the chest and around the front leg ensures that the MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve does not rub and cut into the legs and chest of the dog. Dogs can move and heal in complete freedom. However, it is important to make sure that your dog is fitted with the right size, and to make sure that the sleeve is not too tight.

Interchangeable left/right leg

The MPS-TAZ® Single Front Leg Sleeve is symmetrical in design making it possible to be used for your dog’s left or right front leg. One leg goes into the sleeve and the other leg goes through the opening on the other side.
